Chicago Art Book Fair

  • Chicago Athletic Association 12 South Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL, 60603 United States (map)

The first Chicago Art Book Fair (CABF) will showcase emerging directions and diverse legacies within small press arts publishing. The fair will feature an international group of approximately 100 arts publishers, small presses, book artists, comics artists, zinemakers and printmakers. The CABF will connect artists and publishers with each other and to a public audience, through programming, workshops, and of course through the temporary book market that serves as the fair's focal point and main gathering space. CABF will be free and open to the public.

The main vendor space(s) are the Stagg Court and "The Tank" at the Chicago Athletic Association, a former athletic club restored as a hotel and event space, centrally located in downtown Chicago. The two halls were originally the club's basketball court and pool...we think it's pretty cute. Additional programming and satellite events will occur at Chicago galleries and printshops, linking visitors to local print culture.

Who's putting this on?

The CABF is organized primarily by No Coast - since you're already on our website, you probably know already, but....we are a collaborative project focused on introducing emerging and mid-career artists to a contemporary audience via alternative publishing, printmaking, and the creation of affordable artists’ multiples. No Coast is run by visual artists Aay Preston-Myint and Alexander Valentine.
